What To Consider When Ordering School Playgrounds

You glance out at the unused grass of your school and notice the children are running around the grasslands while entertaining themselves around imaginary games. A couple handball courts sprinkle the grounds, and there are some sand pits, but there are no playground sets. You’ve checked your budget and have a few thousand dollars to shell out for a decent sized playground for your school, but one little problem presents itself: what sort do you buy and how do you determine what’s right for your school? When considering ordering a playground set, you want to keep in mind what your needs may be, the area which it is to be placed in, and the protective surface.

What Are Your Needs?

Each school will differ in terms of the sort of playground it needs; for instance, one school may have a tiny playground, but may want a larger one for older kids. Your school or park grounds may have a large enough playground for 4-year olds, but not one that can hold 8-12-year olds. You may have some ambitions that may be controlled by your budget, and the large playground set for 9 or 10-year olds may lead you into buying a little set for older kids.  Bigger playground sets that can accommodate more kids tend to be more expensive than their smaller counterparts, and an outdoor playground for 8-10-year olds can run about 10,000 dollars or more and may only support 10 or 11 kids at a time.

Area

You may have a sufficient amount of grass with tons of shade, but the area that looks great for a playground may not end up being the best place for the sort of set you want to buy. Slopes are a horrible place to put a set as they can affect how the playground will drain water, and soil that has terrible drainage as well can create huge problems that can ruin the playground. An expert will be able to inform you whether the soil is healthy enough to handle the weight of the set and if the ground is level. Also be aware of the surrounding vegetation because a pine tree may be perfect for shade, but placing a playground under it can present problems with the needles and the sap that fall onto the set.
